 "Antioch, a new and upcoming Christian rock band. We are from a little town called Keene, TX which is close to the Dallas-Ft.Worth area. We have been together for almost two years now. During that time we have played several shows, but have mainly concentrated on writing and developing our songs. We are currently in the process of recording our first record which we are hoping to release sometime around October 2005.The name Antioch actually comes from the Bible. It's located in Acts 11:19-30. The passage that really intrigued us was found in the last part of verse 26. It says that the apostles were first called Christians at the city of Antioch. Antioch was the most instrumental town in the evangelical work of Paul and the other apostles after the death of Jesus. Due to the work of the people of Antioch, the message of Christ was spread to the Gentiles and thus the Christian church was begun. That is the kind of band that we want to be. We want our music to be able to speak for itself as a witness for God. We don't want to place any limitations on the kind of people that God witnesses to through us. There isn't a race or religion that is free from the need to know Jesus. We want to do our best to bring our peers and people we have never met, to know Him better through our music and concert experience. |
