 Savus
was formed in March of 2003 when Julissa, a local Dallas solo artist, and her two brothers Ish and Dave, then members of a separate rock band, decided to unite and create a passionate project in which they put together all their spiritual views and ideas in life into the sounds that they felt were appropriate for their mood. Together they combined her song writing skills with their passion for creating rock music. They recruited two of their close friends, Jay and Tony, who are also seasoned musicians, to join them with rhythm guitar and drums, respectively. The final addition to the project was added in 2004 when keyboardist/singer, Christian re-encountered with long time friend Ish, after a completing a long international tour with several international artists. They have performed in several of the local Dallas music venues. Julissa is the lead vocalist and lyricist for the group. She has been writing and performing her own music for several years. She has also written music for other local Dallas artists. Her background consists of several years of musical training by private voice coaches and teachers. She has also given voice lessons and taught song writing basics to aspiring singers. Ish is the lead guitarist, composer and musical director of the band. After backing up several other artists he decided to start his own project with SAVUS. Dave is the bass guitarist, back up vocals, and co-composer for the band. He has been playing the bass guitar, the piano, and singing for several years. Jay is the rhythm guitarist for the band. He has an extensive musical performance experience. He has been a vocalist and guitar player for over 15 years. He was recruited into SAVUS for his unique talents and poise on stage. Tony is the band’s drummer. He has been performing since the age of 6. He also is an outstanding vocalist and guitar player. Though the youngest member of the group, Tony has received praise and recognition from several area musical engineers for his drum skills. Christian is the band’s keyboardist and BGV’s coordinator. He has worked with several International Artists and toured throughout Mexico, Central America, performed on NYC’s Broadway in the Latin Alternative Music Conference 2002, and appeared in several live television/radio shows, and internet broadcasts. Christian is currently producing several other projects in the Dallas area and has been in the music industry for over 13 years. His repertoire of instruments includes guitar, bass, violin, and keys. |
