 As Christ walked along the road to Golgotha, He fell beaten and bleeding to the ground that so many had walked on before Him. A Roman Soldier began to kick and beat Christ, but the soldier soon realized that He was too weak to bear the cross any longer. The soldier violently grabbed hold of a man and forced the heavy cross upon his shoulder. At first, the man, hesitant and wanting no part of the entourage, saw Christ broken, battered and bleeding. He then chose to serve Christ by carrying the burden as his own. He was an average man... an everyday man... just someone named Simon.Josh and Aaron worked together on a recording project which grew from an idea, to a vision, to a reality and calling, to form a band which has become known as Someone Named Simon. Josh Wheeler (drums), Barak Yaryan (rhythm and lead guitars), Jared Palomar (bass), and Aaron Sanborn (Keys, Vocals), came together in September of 2002 to combine each unique and individual sound which sets them apart from any band or artist in the music industry today. They are influenced by mainstream and Christian bands such as: Switchfoot, Soundgarden, Ben Folds Five, Brandtson, and many others. This results in a very rare and unique breed of alternative rock. Josh boldly attempts to establish a groove that is creative while still being sensitive to the artistic atmosphere of each individual song and instrument. This allows Jared to lock in to the groove and take part in the creative process. Using melodic lines and unique colorful harmonies, Jared brings depth and guidance for Barak to expand beyond the musical boundaries. Barak brings his cutting-edge sound to the table where he paints an intricate pattern of rhythm and melody. Barak's outstanding feel for direction compliments and lays the ground work for Aaron to shade in the gaps of each song with his unexpected yet perfectly fitting keys. Aaron's lyrics are encouraging, inspiring and full of truth that pricks the heart. Through the distinct sound quality of his voice, he pours his "life-source" into every word that takes flight from his lips to successfully deliver the powerful and promising message that SNS stands for... the love of Jesus Christ! After only a short time of coming together, SNS has made quite a splash in the music world. SNS was asked and honored to perform at "The Gathering" at the notorious Vineyard Church (known for its incredible worship music).
